Get involved - Bookham needs you!

The Neighbourhood Development Plan can only be successful if the majority of people who live and work in Bookham participate, and agree with, the Plan that is produced.

Now that the Boookham Vanguard Forum is created we will do our best to keep you informed about the proposals put to the Forum and the decisions that are reached about what should be included in the draft Plan.

To ensure the Neighbourhood Development Plan fits in with your ideas of how Bookham should progress over the next 20 years, please join in the discussion, we will be holding more Public Meetings in the future to inform the community about the progress of the project and we will publish details of decisions that are made about the contents of the draft Plan and ideas that are put forward on the website as they become available.

The Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) cannot be used to stop development, but to decide how and where it should happen. The Plan does have to reflect Mole Valley District Council's strategic planning polices and so could not provide for less housing than MVDC has identified in its Core Strategy. You can find out more about Mole Valley District Council's Planning policy and framework from info and links.

The background research for the detailed work to investigate, research, analyse and then put forward proposals to the Forum will be produced by a Task Force. The Task Force is split into teams covering housing, business and infrastructure. All these elements will make up the entire Plan.

We are still loooking for more help in the Task Force, especially in the Infrastructure Team. If you would like to help please contact us.

The other ways you can get involved is to subscribe to our regular newsletter, follow us on Twitter and come and see us at one of our forthcoming events. We look forward to seeing you and hearing your feedback and ideas about the Neighbourhood Development Plan as it is created
