Final countdown to Neighbourhood Plan for Bookham

It's been two and a half years in the making - finally the Draft Neighbourhood Plan for Bookham is in the final production stages.

Evidence documents are being collated, policies drafted and the document is being put together by the Task Force Team.

The Neighbourhood Forum will meet again on Saturday 18th April 2015 to review and discuss the next Draft version of the Neighbourhood Plan, with the aim of launching it for all Bookham residents to see and comment on at a Community Event to be held in the Barn Hall, Church road Bookham on Saturday 9th May 2015, from 9.30am to 12.30pm.

The NDP will create a set of policies that are particularly appropriate for any development taking place in Bookham up to 2026.  It provides a great opportunity to help improve and protect the way of life enjoyed in our village.

The Plan acknowledges that some development will inevitably happen in the village, just as it has, continually, for decades,  but it will help ensure that the particular development issues of concern to Bookham residents are taken into account.  The Neighbourhood Plan will include Bookham-focused, detailed policies that developers will take note of on top of the policies already covered by Mole Valley's Local Plan and Core Strategy.

The dedicated Task Force team and Forum members have put a huge amount of time and effort into producing the Plan, showing they care passionately about Bookham and its future.

Ultimately, all Bookham residents will vote on the Neighbourhood Plan in a referendum.  This will be your chance to show you care about the future of Bookham as much as we do.  Read the Plan as soon as it is available and be prepared to vote when the time comes.  The vote will be a straight "Yes" or "No" on the entire Plan, not individual policies, so you will need time to read and consider the entire document.
